The 155,000 square foot Caesar Rodney Residence Hall and the connected 55,000 sf Caesar Rodney Fresh Food Company residential dining facility is a LEED Silver structure in the heart of the University of Delaware Campus.

Designed by Ewing Cole, one of the critical problems faced was the waterproofing and associated vegetated roof assembly that creates a pedestrian thru fare connecting Academy Street with The Green.  Working closely with American Hydrotech representatives, an assembly was selected, designed and installed which enabled a seamless transition from Academy Street, over the dining structure and onto The Green.

The installation began with waterproofing complicated conditions and tying into the new residences, followed by sculpting and fill using DuPont Styrofoam insulation to create required elevations, then vegetated roof components and growing media by American Hydrotech.
