The Philadelphia Water Department Sewer Maintenance Facility, completed in 2018, is home to administrative and training facilities for PWD personnel. Designed by Converse Winkler Architects, this structure has many sustainable features, including an 8800 square feet vegetated roof assembly by American Hydrotech. Using the Hydrotech Hydrology Tool to assist civil engineer storm water calculations, the moisture storage design capacity of this rock mineral wool and InstaGreen Sedum Carpet based assembly is 2.02 inches and 10.921 gallons of water. Calculated runoff volume is reduced by 50% vs. a bare roof.
