What does it take to waterproof an entire city block in one of Washington, DC’s most active neighborhoods? At Urby Parcel H, the answer is an expert team, coordination, and a commitment to sustainability. This 478-unit luxury apartment development at the Navy Yard was designed with long-term environmental performance in mind. To help achieve LEED Gold certification, Prospect Waterproofing Company installed a roofing and waterproofing system that combines green roof technology, solar integration, and proven waterproofing protection. Working near Nationals Park meant limited staging areas, restricted crane access, and construction schedules that had to adapt to game-day activity. Through it all, Prospect coordinated complex waterproofing work across rooftops, plazas, courtyards, and loading dock levels while maintaining project momentum. The result: 50,000 SF of Hydrotech Protected Membrane Roofing with Garden Roof® and solar overburden systems 20,000 SF of plaza and loading dock waterproofing Reduced stormwater runoff and improved urban biodiversity Long-term protection powered by Hydrotech® Monolithic Membrane 6125® Projects like Urby Parcel H demonstrate how waterproofing contributes far beyond keeping water out, it helps create sustainable, resilient spaces where people live, work, and gather.
