Millennium Science Complex (8-19-2025)
A few months ago, Hydrotech revisited an award winning and iconic Pennsylvania State University campus project – the Millennium Science Complex. In addition to its academic devotion, the Millennium Science Complex is committed to the environment and was certified LEED® Gold in 2013, due in part to the environmental benefits of the roof assembly. Hydrotech’s Extensive Garden Roof® Assembly spans across ninety percent of the five-level, 60,000 SF roof and delivers energy conservation during extreme temperature, reduces all urban heat island effects, and manages stormwater runoff. At the plaza level entryway, students/faculty can enjoy a park-like space also completed with the Garden Roof Assembly.
That plaza level entryway is created over occupied structure which is entirely underground and at grade level. Critical to the project was Hydrotech’s MM6125 membrane and associated assembly products that allowed applicator R.H. Marcon, Inc. to create this unique plaza with flowing walkways, boulder placement and mounded plantings that provide a peaceful and inviting environment.
