Banner Lane at Sursum Corda Neighborhood in Washington DC (6-17-2024)

American Hydrotech’s MM6125 Protected Membrane Roof and associated Garden Roof and Ultimate Paver Assemblies provided the perfect solution to complete the vision for Banner Lane in the Sursum Corda neighborhood of Washington DC. The results are outstanding for this beautiful project which has brought original families from the community to new homes along with the revival of their neighborhood. Importantly, the long term waterproofing integrity of this project is protected by over 87,000 square feet of MM6125. Sursum Corda means “lift up your hearts” and is certainly fitting as the area continues to undergo transformation while maintaining identity.

From architect WDG:

“Located in the heart of NoMa, Sursum Corda will be a vibrant, transformational, mixed socioeconomic community organized around a new public park and a pedestrian promenade. The new development replaces an inward-looking, 1960s-era low-income housing co-op with a new street system that stitches the original city grid back together. The new Sursum Corda will engage the surrounding neighborhoods by extending First Place NW down to L Street, extending Pierce Street eastward through the site, and ultimately widening L Street to its proper width.”

Thank you to the project team for the opportunity to be a part of the solution for this project.
